Camp Cooking for Kids

Get ready for an exciting culinary adventure during the school holidays! The Bibbulmun Track Foundation’s expert guides will lead kids and adults on a leisurely 4km return walk to a picturesque Bibb Track campsite.

Amidst the beauty of the bush the Bibb Track kitchen will be set up, where kids will dive into the world of camp cooking through a hands-on experience.

Where: Perth Observatory 337 Walnut Road Bickley

Head to the Perth Observatory for a special evening of lunar photography under the stars. This is a great opportunity to capture stunning images of the Moon using your own camera and some of the best telescopes in the region.

Your expert guide, Roger Groom from Astro Photography Australia, will lead a one-hour theory session on the process of photographing the Moon, from equipment and software to image processing.

Fairy Afternoon Tea - Perth Observatory

10km Waterfalls, Wildflowers, & Wandoo Hiking Experience!

Sunday 5 October

7:30am - 12:00pm

Where: Lesmurdie Hall

Listen to waterfalls cascading downstream at Lesmurdie Falls and Whistlepipe Gully on the picturesque and tranquil 10km Waterfalls, Wildflowers, & Wandoo Hiking Experience!

You will experience two of Perth’s best trails in this ultimate Mundy Regional Park hike! Enjoy picturesque views of the Perth city skyline, Swan Coastal Plain, and surrounding valleys from multiple vantage points. After hiking down to the base of the falls at Lesmurdie Falls, you will hike back up the steep but narrow Karri Hazel lined trail until we reach the lookout. Here you will stop to admire the surrounding valley and the Falls down below, before you kick on to explore the beautiful Wandoo woodlands of Mundy Regional Park.

As you reach Whistlepipe Gully, the blooming Acacia Wattle will greet you, and we’ll be immediately immersed into this trail’s natural beauty. Following the gully’s edge past cascades and small waterfalls, the scenery on this trail is spectacular and made all the better by the ambience of the trickling water, paper-bark trees, and blooming wildflowers.

Bibbulmun Blossoms Hike

Don’t just gawk at them! Come and learn about the many wildflowers in bloom on a guided walk (8km with some steep hills) near Kalamunda this spring.

Bibbulmun Track guides will assist you to identify the flora along the way. A good level of fitness is required.

A copy of Wildflowers of the Northern Bibbulmun Track & Jarrah Forests is included.

School holiday fun with the Bibb Track specialists! Embark on a captivating 2km journey (each way) to meet the enchanting native creatures from the Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

Designed for kids aged 5 to 12 years, witness the joy on their faces as they interact and learn about our fascinating native animals. Follow the Waugal trail markers for a return trip at dusk, creating a memorable adventure.
